Abstract :
Shirzad Hassan (born 1950) is a famous Kurdish novelist who began writing at a young age. He has become known as one of the modern novelists of Kurdistan and has translated a number of successful novels and several volumes of books from English into Kurdish. The events in his novels - which usually take place in Kurdish society - reflect the events of his own society. The characters in Shirzad Hassan's novels often suffer from severe pain and agonizing sadness from which they resort to anything to escape, but apparently they never find relief. The only way to escape is a nostalgic return to the past before that. The features seen in Shirzad Hassan's novels draw the reader towards naturalism. In a way that he thinks he is influenced by the literary school of naturalism on the one hand and a kind of determinism and positivism on the other. This article, which has been conducted with an analytical-descriptive method using library resources, leads us to the conclusion that although naturalistic elements are seen in Shirzad Hassan's works, this does not mean that he was directly influenced by this school. In fact, it can be said that a certain amount of naturalistic elements is seen in Shirzad Hassan's works.
