Abstract :
This study aims to propose a strategic supply chain management model to assess the capabilities of the petrochemical industry within the framework of Industry 4.0. This applied and qualitative research employed thematic analysis through interviews with ten experts to identify and categorize key supply chain capabilities. The proposed model focuses on five critical dimensions: flexibility, sustainability, innovation, transparency, and coordination—each defined by a set of 15 operational indicators. The findings suggest that a strategy built upon these five capabilities can enhance operational efficiency, reduce systemic risks, and minimize environmental impacts, thereby narrowing the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical implementation in the petrochemical sector. As a comprehensive decision-making framework, the model enables managers, policymakers, and stakeholders to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their supply chains and map out strategic improvement paths. Implementation of this strategy may foster the development of more agile, resilient, and innovative supply chains, equipping the petrochemical industry to effectively confront market fluctuations, environmental requirements, and technological advancements.
