Abstract :
The main goal of designers and builders of healthcare environments is to create a healing environment. The concept of healing has led to positive effects on the treatment process and significant changes in hospital design in the last century. Paying attention to the patient instead of the treatment process has proposed an approach to hospital design called the "patient-centered" approach. Recently, as patient safety and accelerating the recovery process have become important, architects have turned to a topic called "evidence-based design".
Improving the principles of designing healthcarecenters with an evidence-based method, improving the quality of space, improving patient satisfaction, accelerating the recovery process, and focusing on the patient in order to achieve patient satisfaction are the goals of this research.
This research is in line with analytical-descriptive research based on field observation, library studies and data collection through questionnaires from 25 patients hospitalized in Gandhi Hospital, which was analyzed to provide a suitable solution for design. The software used is ASPECT and SPSS26.
The information related to the mean and standard deviation of the components of the healing environment of Gandhi Hospital shows that the total mean, the mean of architectural features and interior design features are equal to 3.949, 3.952 and 3.815, respectively. The aforementioned numbers are very close to the average, which indicates the relative satisfaction of patients in these dimensions. On the other hand, the average psychological and social characteristics of Gandhi Hospital were above average, indicating high patient satisfaction with this factor.
