Abstract :
Problem Statement:The rapid urbanization and significant migration from rural areas have resulted in depopulation of villages and a concentration of populations in cities, leading to several challenges. To address these issues, it is vital to focus on rural development and explore strategies to mitigate rural-to-urban migration. One promising avenue is the development of rural and agricultural tourism, which can enhance the value for local residents, promote socio-cultural sustainability, and potentially encourage reverse migration.Research Method:This study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing a SWOT analysis to achieve its primary goal:to offer practical solutions for the sustainable socio-cultural development of Golzar village in Pakdasht County, with a particular focus on its exhibition and greenhouse capacities.Findings:Golzar, recognized as a premier tourist destination for flowers in Iran, boasts permanent exhibitions of flowers and ornamental plants that attract numerous visitors from around the globe annually.Following a comprehensive introduction to Golzar village, interviews with residents led to the identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The SWOT analysis was further informed by interviews with 24 experts who evaluated each of these factors. Results:The analysis reveals that Golzar currently occupies the second quadrant of the strategic area(conservative). This positioning suggests that there is an opportunity to enhance the village's prospects by leveraging available opportunities to address existing weaknesses. In light of these findings, several recommendations have been proposed, including the establishment of educational programs focusing on tourism, the employment of locally trained professionals in the tourism sector, and the implementation of effective marketing strategies to raise awareness.
