Abstract :
Today, cancer is considered one of the most important health problems worldwide. According to studies, more than one-third of cancer patients suffer from mental disorders, and anxiety and depression are the most common psychological symptoms. The aim of the present study was to compare quality of life, life expectancy and self-efficacy in women with early and advanced breast cancer. The research method was a descriptive causal-comparative type. The statistical population of the study included all women with early and advanced breast cancer attending Farhikhtegan Hospital in Tehran in 2024. The sample size was 30 women with early stage breast cancer (grade 1) and 30 women with advanced stage breast cancer (grade 3), who were selected through purposive sampling and responded to the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (1996), Schneider Hopefulness Scale (1991), and Scherer et al. General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (1982). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 statistical software and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) test. According to the results of the study, there is a significant difference in the F value observed between the two groups of women with breast cancer in the early and advanced stages in terms of life expectancy (P < 0.01; F = (58, 1) 192.037), self-efficacy (P < 0.01; F = (58, 1) 872.110), and quality of life (P < 0.01; F = (58, 1) 576.6).
