Abstract :
Health-related quality of life is a broad concept that encompasses many different aspects of a person's life. This can include physical factors such as ability to perform daily activities, pain level and overall physical function. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the psychometric properties of the health-related quality of life questionnaire for children and adolescents. The design of the current research was descriptive-analytical and of the type of tool construction and development. The statistical population of the research was elementary school boys in the academic year of 2014-2015, whose number was 2200, and among these people, 10 grade students (325 people) were selected by available sampling method and using Morgan table were selected as research subjects. In order to check the content validity with the Delphi method, five psychology experts were used and using the Lavshe index (content validity ratio), and ten end users of the questionnaire were used to check the face validity. Then, in order to check the validity of the structure, exploratory factor analysis method was used, and in order to check reliability, Cronbach's alpha coefficient and test-retest method were used. Data analysis was done with SPSS software version 24. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the health-related quality of life questionnaire consists of three factors that explain 53.4% of the variance. Cronbach's alpha of the factors of this questionnaire for physical health was 0.74, sense of security 0.71, and psychological well-being was 0.75. Based on the findings of this research, the health-related quality of life questionnaire is a reliable and valid tool and can be considered in research and counseling departments.
