Explanation of the role of dry port in the regional development of Zahedan city

Abstract :

 

Dry port is a place with several benefits, including environmental conservation by transferring the transport system  rail, increasing the performance of coastal ports, reducing urban and road traffic and et al. The present study was conducted with the aim of explaining and examining the role of dry port in the regional development of Zahedan city by a mixed research method of the type of explanation. Based on the quantitative findings, the most important quantitative criteria of the study are: impact on the economic development of areas, Control and improvement of traffic impacts, impact on the social development of areas, the presence of facilities related to economic activities and the location of the dry port. Also, based on the qualitative results of the research, the most important qualitative criteria of the research include: communication with the railway network, reduction of fuel and energy consumption, expansion of goods exports, reduction of environmental pollution and transportation costs.
