Abstract :
Introduction: Health and hospital units need access to productivity information from health and treatment units to improve access to health services. Hospital beds are used to indicate the availability of inpatient services. There is no global norm for the density of hospital beds in relation to total population. The aim of the present study was to provide a management model for the productivity of hospital beds in Rasht teaching hospitals.
Methods: The method of the current research is the Snowball – sampling method. Snowball is a method for exploratory and qualitative studies. The research community consisted of experts who had records of more than 18 years, and the criterion for determining the sample size in this research was to reach theoretical saturation.
Results: The purpose of this stage is to establish a relationship between the concepts and categories produced in the open coding stage. They were identified from the raw data of the interview in the form of a pattern called the axial coding pattern. This template includes: 4 main concepts and 4 secondary concepts 28 primary codes. Analysis included: necessity of productivity, background factors, obstacles, consequences of productivity hospital beds.
Conclusion:the criteria for managing the productivity of hospital beds are to provide quality care, optimal use of resources and reducing wastage of resources, reducing complaints and satisfaction of employees and patients, epidemic and non-infectious crises, decisions and planning, policy the basic factors of productivity were the presence of competent managers who are knowledgeable about the indicators and the management of hospital beds.
