The predictive role of self compassion and psychological capital for family functioning in married women in shiraz city

Abstract :
Introduction: The aim of this study was to predict family function based on self-compassion and psychological capital on married women in government agencies in Shiraz.
Materials and Methods: In order to investigate the objectives of the study, a descriptive correlational method was selected. 120 married women working in government agencies in Shiraz were selected using single-stage cluster sampling method and were asked to complete the Epstein Family Function Questionnaire, Neff Self-Compassion Questionnaire and Luthans Psychological Capital Questionnaire
Findings: The results of data analysis showed that self-compassion has a positive and significant role in predicting family function. Also, psychological capital has a positive and significant role in predicting family function. Self-compassion also significantly predicts the subscales of communication, emotional companionship, emotional attachment, and overall performance of the Family Functioning Questionnaire, but it weren't able to predict three othere subscales,including: roles and behavior control and problem –solving
Conclusion: The results of this study can be used for couples with marital conflicts.
