Abstract :
The safety of urban spaces is one of the important issues in urban planning and management. Paying attention to issues related to children in the direction of a child-friendly city has doubled the importance of addressing the issue of the safety of recreational spaces for children. Considering the urbanization and intense concentration of people in the cities and the decrease in the area of residential houses and the strong need of citizens to have fun and leisure outside the home, the safety of the spaces outside the home is of great importance for the citizens and one of the necessary conditions in the recreational spaces for Their optimal performance and facilitating the emergence of appropriate behaviors during recreation, the existence of physical and mental safety and comfort, and the use of this capability by the users of that environment. In such a way that the environment, having these conditions at different psychological levels, provides certain behaviors in people and will ensure the compatibility of behavior and environment. In the present research, the safety level of recreational spaces for children in Roknabad town of Shiraz has been investigated and evaluated. The research method is descriptive, analytical and correlational. The statistical population of the research of Rokn Abad town is approximately 10,000 people, and its sample population is 373 people based on Cochran's formula, and a total of 420 researcher-made questionnaires have been distributed. The questionnaires are based on non-random sampling among people available in the population has been The validity of the questionnaires has been confirmed in terms of content and reliability through Cronbach's alpha coefficient. For data analysis, factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used in the form of SmartPLS software. The results of the research show that the design of children's playgrounds has a significant effect on children's safety, and the equipment of children's playgrounds has a significant effect on children's safety. Finally, that; The environmental characteristics of children's play spaces have a significant effect on children's safety.
