Abstract :

Almond is one of the important horticultural products in Kerman province. The technical, allocative and economic efficiency of almond farmers in Sirjan region were studied to analyze the degree of farmer's success in the optimum allocation of their resources and also in order to study the possibility of increasing production based on the available resources and factors of production. Data were collected from a random sample of 41 farmers in 1387-88 cropping year. For the purpose of study, stochastic frontier production and cost function methods were used.The result showed that the average technical, allocative and economic efficiency in Kerman province was 69%, 64% and 44% respectively. The improper allocation of resources by farmers was thought to be the cause of lower economic efficiency compare to technical efficiency
