The Effect of Urbanization Degree and Age Structure of Population on Entrepreneurship Development
Abstract
Today, many countries around the world have realized the importance of the role of entrepreneurship in the process of achieving "economic" growth and development. Therefore, identifying the factors affecting entrepreneurship in order to be able to appropriate policy to address barriers and strengthen its expansion is very important and necessary. Therefore, the present study uses the experimental data of two groups of selected developing and developed countries during the period 2015-2019 to investigate the impact of urbanization and age structure of the population on entrepreneurship. For this purpose, the research model was estimated by panel data approach and generalized moment method separately for the two groups of selected countries. The results showed that the degree of urbanization and age structure of the population had a positive effect on entrepreneurship in both groups of selected countries. It makes sense. However, their estimated coefficient is higher in developed countries. In addition, non-objective independent variables including governance, education and financial development with different estimated coefficients have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurship in both groups of selected countries.
