Hidden Specific Theoretical Orientation in Psychotherapy Preferences of Psychologists and Psychiatrists: A Systematic Review of Research Evidence from the Last Three Decades

Abstract :
Qualitative researches are part of the efforts that have increased the depth of psychotherapy. The present research was conducted with the aim of identifying the hidden preferences and specific orientation of psychologists and psychiatrists in choosing a specific treatment approach in 1403.
Method: Qualitative content analysis method was used, descriptive phenomenological type, the population of participants were psychotherapists of Mazandaran province and they participated in this research using non-voluntary and purposeful sampling method. became Considering that in the qualitative research method, the number of people is not known and the researcher is required to conduct interviews until the information saturation stage, the researcher reached information saturation by interviewing 16 psychologists and 4 psychiatrists, and to collect information from the semi-structured interview protocol 9 research findings have been used, which the researcher has adjusted based on the study of research backgrounds, and the open, selective and core coding method has been used to analyze the data.
Findings and conclusions: The findings of this research formulated the preferences, interest and mastery of therapists based on the views and experiences of therapists. The preferences of the therapists are humanistic approaches first, followed by cognitive behavioral and psychoanalytical approaches. Aman plays a more fundamental role in the effectiveness of the treatment process than other components.
