The relationship between media literacy and social intelligence with the aggression of spectators in the Iranian Wrestling Premier League

Abstract :
Objective: Sports provide opportunities to express feelings and emotions such as aggression, which can be influenced by media literacy and social intelligence. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between media literacy and social intelligence and the aggression of the spectators of the Iranian Premier League.
Methods: The present research was descriptive-correlational, based on the present tense, in terms of practical purpose, and in terms of collecting field information using a questionnaire. The statistical population of all the spectators of the Iranian Premier League in 1402, which can be counted. According to Morgan's table, the number of statistical sample is 345 people from among the statistical population who are randomly selected from available types. In this study, three philosophical media literacy questionnaires (2013), Krohn's social intelligence questionnaire (2009) and Hennessy and Schwartz's aggression questionnaire (2007) were used. Regarding the collection of data, after the approval of the research title and the proposal related to the research and confirmation of the validity and reliability of the questionnaires, a letter of introduction was obtained from the Islamic Azad University, Quds branch, for the wrestling federation to make the necessary arrangements for the distribution of the questionnaires. Then the questionnaires were distributed and collected by the researcher among the audience. Descriptive statistics were used to classify the raw scores, design a frequency distribution table, and calculate dispersion indices such as mean, standard deviation, and frequency.
Results:The results of Pearson correlation and linear regression showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between media literacy and social intelligence with aggression. There is And media literacy and social intelligence have the ability to predict aggression.
Conclusions: Based on the findings of the research, it is suggested that the managers of wrestling sports venues pay more attention to media .literacy and social intelligence in order to reduce the aggression of the spectators and increase the security of wrestling matches
