The application of landscape urbanism in organizing the main structure of cities in order to improve livability (Case Study: District 3, Qazvin City)

Abstract :

Landscape urbanism is a new approach in urban design and planning that focuses on the integration of different dimensions in urban design with an emphasis on the role of landscape. The general approach of the research is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, which is carried out with the aim of investigating and presenting the pattern of landscape urbanization in the reconstruction of the main urban landscape with a focus on livability in the 3rd district of Qazvin city. According to the findings of the research, in the institutional dimension, the index of "comprehensive patterns of organization" with an average of 4.282 and in the environmental dimension, the index of "regional ecology" with an average of 4.326 had the highest scores.On the other hand, in the physical dimension, the "readability and identity" index with an average of 2.681 and in the social dimension, the "population ratio" index with an average of 2.266 had the lowest points. The population density analysis showed that the high population density in the central and suburban areas It has created problems such as congestion, traffic, pollution and worn-out texture, which has a negative effect on the livability of the urban landscape. Also, the pattern of fine grain and medium grain in this area, along with advantages such as increasing the sense of belonging and pedestrian access, faces problems such as lack of light, open space, and car access,which requires measures such as creating green space, improving roads, and renovating the fabric. On the other hand, the appropriate distribution of service uses in this area can help to increase accessibility, social interactions and livability.Finally, the proposed model of Manzar urban development aims at improving the physical and social dimensions with approaches such as restoring identity, organizing population density, creating green space and strengthening Social infrastructure will be the focus.
