Illustration of scientific productions in the field of knowledge maps in the Web of Science reference database

Abstract :
Objective: The analysis of indexed scientific productions related to knowledge maps in the Web of Science reference database is accompanied by the drawing of a scientific map of this field.
Methodology: This research has investigated scientific productions in the field of knowledge maps with the scientometric approach and analysis of 784 records from the Web of Science database by selecting the most relevant records and searching in keywords. Data analysis has been done with visualization of the products by using VOS viewer and USnet scientific software.
Results: Among the countries, China has a significant share of scientific productions related to knowledge maps by producing 199 records. America and Taiwan are in the next ranks respectively. The analysis of the publications shows that educational research has published the most related articles. While the authors' analysis introduces Adesope OO with 7 records and H-index 5, Nesbit JC with 6 records and H-index 5 and Zhang J with 5 records and H-index 3 as the most prominent researchers in this field; The year 2023 has seen the most scientific productions and English is recognized as the dominant language in this field. The keyword clustering analysis shows that the concept of knowledge maps is considered as the main and central core of this research field.
Conclusion: In the end, it can be said that researches in the field of knowledge maps have adopted a more specialized, international and practical approach and have investigated more complex scientific issues.
