Abstract :

Although "Yadgar Zariran" is considered the oldest epic story in Iran and its epic and religious dimensions are inseparable from politics, yet this work has not been studied in terms of politics. The purpose of this research is to understand the nature and the standpoint of this work from a political perspective.  Since this text is a narrative one, attempt is made to place it in the framework of Hannah Arendt's views on storytelling in order to get a better understanding of what this text is and find its place in the Iranian thought and political system.The investigation shows that "Yadgar Zariran" contains the elements of the story in Arendt's thought, and from her point of view, it is the best way to know the identity of a person or a nation. In the framework of Hannah Arendt's thought, Yadgar Zariran is a political work. Yadgar Zariran is an attempt to express part of the religious-epic history of Iran, the foundations of political thought, and the elements of Iranian culture and civilization as a unique phenomenon in the form of a story with the ability to bring out, portray and perpetuate the national spirit and identity.
