Psychometric Properties of the Sexual Self-awareness Scale in Iranian Society

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of sexual self-awareness questionnaire in Iranian society by applying confirmatory factor analysis. In this research, samples of 315 (180 females) and (135 males) of married students studying at the University of Science and Research were selected by cluster sampling method. In order to investigate the confirmatory factor structure, we used the method of estimating the least amount of weighted squares and for measuring the adequacy of model fit with the data, ، RMSEA، CFI، AGFI، GFI، 2c، /df2c و 2Dc were used. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was more than 0.70 in terms of sexual self-awareness and was satisfactory. The factor structure of this scale was also confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. Correlation coefficients between the components of the self-awareness questionnaire were positive and significant at 0.01 level. The mean of correlation coefficients between components was equal to 0.317. This finding indicates the optimal internal correlation of sex-self-knowledge questionnaire .Based on the results of this study, the level of sexual self-knowledge for measuring this structure in Iranian samples is sufficiently reliable and reliable.
