Abstract The quality and content of all educational systems highly result from all exact planning and application of proper educational styles and tools which can play a significant role in promotion of educational purposes if families and instructors apply it will be effective on student's performance. The main research purpose is a survey on the role of educational styles of families on student's performance. The statistical population of this research consisted of all male and female students of twenty zone of the education department of high school in Tehran in academic year of 1387-1388 that 265 girls and 398 boys were selected by random sampling. The performance criterion was based on average of last year or last term. The research method was PEIRSON correlation.to collect information a researcher – made questionnaire was used which had 41 questions. In order to inner equal estimation; we used CRONBACH alpha method on 50persons of the sample who were selected randomly and validity coefficient was 0.767 the results showed that educational styles can predict academic achievement. Also there is a significant relationship between educational styles and academic performance. (p<0.05). It means those families that use modern educational styles are more successful than those families that use traditional educational styles . Also there is a significant difference between the average of girls and boys. It means that boys were taught more with modern educational style than girls .
