Abstract :
Urban waste production is growing dilemma that threatens public health, and if not, irreversible environmental damage will follow. In this study the combined effects of nitrogen fertilizer and compost on soil physicochemical properties and quantitative and qualitative characteristics of wheat were studied .Treatments were: use of composting waste at levels of 0, 10 and 20 ha and nitrogen at levels of 0, 100 and 200 kg.ha-1. The results of the experiment showed that the effect of municipal solid compost waste, the effect of nitrogen and their interaction on grain yield and biological function were significant. The highest grain yield and biological yield were obtained by use of 40 ton.ha-1 of compost with 100 kg N ha, respectively. The effects of municipal solid waste compost on 1000 seed weight was significantly and increased 20.4 % compared to control. The effects of nitrogen on 1000 seed weight was significantly and increased 26.7 % compared to control .Harvest index increased significantly with the use of compost and increased 11.85 in compare to control. Data also showed that use of nitrogen also increased the harvest index and increased 4.9%. Maximum harvest index treated with use of 20 ton.ha-1 municipal solid waste compost with 100 kg.ha-1 nitrogen.
