Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine the effects of short-term starvation and re-feeding on various parameters such as Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Feed Efficiency Ratio (FER), Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER), Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Weight Gain (WG), Condition Factors (CF) and to investigate on the possible Catch- up growth mechanisms in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) with an average weight of 17.5±0.5 gr. This study performed in a controlled laboratory conditions and lasted for 8 weeks in a completely randomized design with three treatments and three replicates per treatment. Throughout the experiment control treatment fed fully without deprivation of food but the first and second treatment endured hunger for a day, after 2 days feeding and for a day after 4 days feeding, respectively during the study, biometry was done every two weeks. At the end of experiment according to the results no significant difference observed between treatments which were fed fully and treatments which endured hunger.
