The Study of Sexual Dimorphism in Caspian Bebt-toed Gecko, Cyrtopodion caspium (Sauria: Gekkonidae)

Abstract :
The Caspian bent-toed gecko, Cyrtopodion caspium, is one of the most common nocturnal lizards of Iran which consider to widespread distribution of it especially in the Northernprovinces, no studies have been done on its reproduction. This research was done in order to the study of sexual dimorphism of this species in Sari County from May 5th to October 20th 2011. During this research, 140 specimens including 70 adult males and 70 adult females were studied. Results show that the adult males in addition of having the apparent femoral and preanal pores, are heavier than females and have the larger body, head and tail length. There is no significant difference between diets of males and females.
