Abstract :
This study was conducted to investigate the role of spectators watching network series Persian language Jam on popular culture. The population consisted of all Families in the district 11 in Tehran that according to the 1390 census, are 288, 884 people (98 556 Families). The sample size is 384 based on Cochran formula. The number of those who was selected between those who watched the series Jam network. The questionnaire consists of 47 questions designed by researcher. For data analysis Spss18 software is used. Popular culture was evaluated in the five dimensions of values, norms, symbols, beliefs, religion and language. The results showed that watching satellite network series Jam Tehran has an impact on popular culture. Also watching the series of the five dimensions had a significant impact. However, it has less impact on language as compared with other aspects. The independent variable of education also has a significant effect on the general culture subjects. However, the gender and age dimensions have not a significant influence on the general culture.
