The Investigation of the Relationship between “Status Consumption” and “Social Factors”

Abstract :
In this study at first the researchers have examined the status consumption and then they have investigated the relationship between this consumption habit and social factors (considering social comparison information, susceptibility to interpersonal information influence, susceptibility to interpersonal normative influences).This study has done among the students of Islamic Azad University, Tehran Science and Research Branch. The study has also analyzed the findings gathered from 384 samples. To test the hypothesis the researchers have used the spearman correlation coefficient formula and SPSS software. The results of this study show a positive relationship between "attention to social comparison information, susceptibility to interpersonal normative influence" and "status consumption". There is not any relationship between "susceptibility to interpersonal information influence" and” status consumption" is another outcome of this research.
