Abstract :
Today, cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common causes of death and disability in societies, so the aim of the research was to investigate the effect of 6 weeks of omega-3 supplementation on AST/ALT/LDH indices in men with cardiovascular disease. In this study, 24 men with cardiovascular disease in the range of 55 to 65 years who referred to Rouhani and Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Babol, without a history of taking omega-3 supplements, were selected as the statistical population. These people were divided into 3 equal groups. The first group: healthy people, the second group: heart patients without taking supplements, the third group: heart patients who used omega-3 supplements, taking one 1000 mg capsule a day for 6 weeks. they did The data was analyzed using spss v.22 software and one-way analysis of variance methods at the probability level (P<0.05). The findings showed that there is a statistically significant difference in the serum level of LDH enzyme in the post-test stage between the groups of healthy, control and omega-3 users. The amount of lactate dehydrogenase in the omega-3 group has decreased in the post-test phase compared to the pre-test phase. The serum levels of ALT and AST enzymes between the control groups and those consuming omega-3 supplements, in both the pre-test and post-test phases, had no statistically significant differences with each other. The results showed that the consumption of omega-3 supplements has partially reduced the amount of LDH, ALT and AST enzymes.
