Abstract :
One of the major problems in native poultry breeding, which also causes damage, is the issue of contamination with ectoparasites, due to the low level of health in the method of maintenance, the high population of villagers in Iran and the traditional practice of keeping and breeding poultry The identification of pathogens in this category of poultry is important and contributes to the fight against and the prevention of their diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the contamination of ectoparasites in native poultry in the city of Roudsar. For this purpose, the body of 90 birds was carefully examined. In total, 60 (66%) of the samples showed foreign parasites. The isolates included: Menopon Gallinae (38%), Menacanthus stramineus (22%), Goniodes disimilis (31%), and Argas persicus (8%). Finally, the study found that the contamination of foreign parasites is relatively common among native poultry in the city of Roudsar. It is suggested that educational programs about periodical anti-parasitic treatments are necessary for veterinarians and rural people.
