This study intended to develop and validate the methods for teaching art in elementary schools. The first part is a qualitative phenomenological study focusing on the experiences of art teachers and students. Participants in the first part involved 12 art teachers and 15 elementary school students living in Fars province, selected through homogeneous sampling. One-to-one semi-structured interviews with art teachers and elementary students were used for the purpose of data collection. In order to analyze the interview data, Colaizzi seven-step method was used. In the first part, the findings were validated through examining the interviewees, and content analysis method was used in the second part. The content analysis focused on all texts and articles that dealt with the methods of teaching art to elementary school students. Reality reconstruction was used to validate qualitative data. For this purpose, the interviews conducted by the interviewees were read and finally approved by deleting, adding or subtracting. The findings showed the following 7 criteria for teaching art: teaching method criterion (including group and individual dimensions), student criterion (including knowledge, attitude, skill, intelligence and thinking), teacher criterion (including teaching method and scientific development), opportunity criterion (including culture, heritage, art and art within social context), weakness criterion (including parents, education, time, equipment and books) strength criterion(including upstream documents and the status of art) and finally the criterion of principles (including the principle of moderation, the principle of creation, the combination of art with the objective and principle of freedom). L2 research, during the last two decades, has almost abandoned studying appropriacy of methodologies and techniques to focus more on the underlying derives for teachers’ pedagogical decision makings inside the class. Borg’s (2003) ideas of the role of teachers’ cognition in their adaptation and adoptation of teaching techniques and activities have noticeably influenced L2 professional research community. This study, in line with the recent trend, is designed and conducted to elicit EFL teachers’ grammar teaching cognition to have more comprehensive accounts of teachers’ behaviors in the class. In so doing, a Likert scale 25-item questionnaire developed by Naashia (2006) was administered to 177 Iranian EFL teachers. The results indicated that EFL teachers are currently more inclined toward communicative focus on grammar in which grammar instruction is marginalized to have learners naturally act out linguistics rules while performing communicative tasks. The impetus for performing this study came from Thornbury's (2005) approach to teaching speaking in which he claimed that awareness-raising techniques and appropriation strategies facilitate the developing speaking skill. Accordingly, this study explored the impact of an appropriation-based syllabus to teaching speaking by using chunks-on-card activities based on quasi-experimental method. To do so, 30 Iranian intermediate EFL learners were selected from four classes in a language institute and the classes were randomly allocated to two groups: an experimental and a control group. To observe the effect of the treatment, the participants underwent pre- and post-tests on speaking skill. They participated in 14 treatment sessions in which the experimental group practiced the chunks-on-card approach through drilling while the control group practiced the conventional approach. The findings of the Independent-Samples T-test as well as the Paired Samples T-test revealed significant differences among the pre- and post-tests scores of both groups. Thus, the hypothesis of the study which postulated that the appropriation-based teaching of lexical chunks had a significant impact on these intermediate EFL learners’ speaking skills was confirmed. The purpose of this study was to presentation of the structural model of relationships between academic burnout and academic performance with the mediating role of self-regulatory in students. The method of the present study in terms of applied purpose and in terms of descriptive, correlation has been observed. The statistical population consisted of all 161 undergraduate students at the Islamic Azad University of Neka in the academic year 2018-2019. Sample size According to Krejcy and Morgan table, 113 individuals were selected randomly (gender). The instrument for collecting data was three standard questionnaires of academic burnout, academic performance and self-regulation Questionnaire. The collected data was used for analyzed by Structural equation modeling using the partial least squares method (PLS). The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between academic burnout and self-regulation with student's academic performance; 20.1% of self- regulation and 27.6% of academic performance is explained by academic burnout. And the self- regulation variable has a mediator effect on the relationship between academic burnout and academic performance. Fit indices indicate that the proposed model is an appropriate fit.
