Using the evaporating method, the solubility of potassium Nitrate was determined in various mixtures containing Water and Ethanol at 25°C. The results show that the solubility of KNo3 decreases with increasing the mass percent of Ethanol in the mixtures. This trend is along with decreasing the dielectric constant of Water+Ethanol mixtures. Moreover, it can be concluded that the totqal solubility of KNO3 may be regarded as the sum of two contributions; one referring to the free ions in the solution and the other to K+NO3-ion-pairs which are formed in the saturated solution. Estimating the formation constant, KAm for the reaction K+(soln) + NO3-(soln) AK+NO3- (ion-pair) , upon Bjerrum or fuoss models, then it is quite easy to evaluate the contributions of free ions and K+NO3-(ion-pair) to the total solubility. تفاصيل المقالة

In this study, the ion association phenomenon in the saturated solution of KCl in the mixed solvent(methanol+water) was studied. The solubility of this compound in the mixed solvent (methanol+water by value percent of methanol = 60%), and in the presence of various molarities of NaNO3 wasdetermined by the solvent evaporation method at 25.0°C. The results enable us to estimate the valueof thermodynamic solubility product, Ksp(th), of KCl in the mixed solvent upon the extrapolationmethod (Ksp(th) = 0.1356). Although the model solubility product, Ksp(m), was calculated upon the semitheoretical semi experimental Debey-Huckle theory shows (Ksp(m) = 0.2308 ). Comparing the valuesof Ksp(th) and Ksp(m) with the concentration solubility product, (Ksp(c) = 0.5537), we can see that thedifferences are noticeable. We assume that, part of the differences comes from non-ideality and the other part from ionassociation phenomenon. تفاصيل المقالة

The values ofsolubility and solubility product constant of CdF2 in the mixed solvent were evaluated at zero ionicstrength upon the extrapolation method. Then, the ion - pairing extension was calculated in theconsidered solution. تفاصيل المقالة

The solubility of KNO3 in the mixed solvent (water 85%+methanol 15%) were determined by using solvent evaporating method at different temperatures (25, 30, 40, 50, 60 ;C). In addition the equilibrium constant of ion pair formation, KIP, for K+NO3 ion-pair on the basis of Fuoss contact ion pair model was calculated. Upon choosing the extended Debye-Hückel model for estimating the mean activity coefficient of ions in the saturated solution and using the itteration calculations, we estimated the ion association contribution to the solubility of considered ionic compound in the mixed solvent at various temperatures. The value of thermodynamic solubility product constant, Ksp (th), BHdiss, BSdiss and BGdiss of KNO3 in the mixed solvent (water 85%+methanol 15%) was calculated. تفاصيل المقالة
