چکیده تقاضای بیش از پیش انرژی از سوی کشورهای صنعتی و تلاش برای دسترسی به انرژی در رقابت‌های اقتصادی بین‌الملل، باعث توجه ویژه به مناطق انرژی خیز و تغییر دیدگاه‌های ژئوپلیتیکی نسبت به این مناطق شده است. هدف از این پژوهش، تحلیل و بررسی ژئواکونومی ج.ا.ایران در معادلات جنوب غرب آسیا است. روش تحقیق در این پژوهش توصیفی - تحلیلی بوده که با مراجعه به منابع کتابخانه‌ای و سایت‌های معتبر نسبت به جمع‌آوری اطلاعات اقدام گردیده است. کشور ج.ا.ایران به لحاظ قرار گرفتن بین دو حوزه مهم دریای کاسپین و خلیج‌فارس و دارا بودن منابع سرشار انرژی نفت و گاز و سایر ذخایر زیر زمینی و قابلیت‌های اقتصادی دیگر، در قلمروهای ژئواکونومی جدید، دارای نقش بی‌بدیل به‌ویژه در منطقه جنوب غرب آسیا و خلیج‌فارس است اما از رهبری ژئوپلیتیکی منطقه و قدرت تأثیرگذاری بر سیاست‌های انتقال انرژی برخوردار نیست.
