Abstract :
This study is descriptive - cross sectional and during the 8 months from winter of 2012 to spring and summer 2013 was performed . In this study at first, with preparation and organization the questionnaire, information about usage, type and functionality of household treatment systems were collected. Then from 20 Household water treatment ،after water treatment, the samples were taken. samples for examined , dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, total dissolved solids, total hardness, fluoride, nitrate, chloride and microbial quality of water, according to instructions provided in the latest edition of standard methods(2012), were tested. Sampling in 5 different locations in Ahwaz city that covered by 5 treatment plant was performed.Mean quality parameters of pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, dissolved oxygen, total hardness, fluoride, chloride, nitrate and MPN values, respectively, about 8.26, 338.37, 163.61, 2.76, 78.4, 0.08, 55.84, 0.577 and 5.39 are measured. The investigations also revealed that treatment systems, make acceptable standard for some parameters of drinking water such as pH& EC but led to a sharp decline in the values of other parameters -TDS, DO total hardness, chloride, fluoride and nitrate- below the drinking water standards & Have been no effect in reducing microbial contamination.
