Abstract :
Water losses from concrete channels include leakage from the body and floor and evaporation from the free surface of the water. The most important issue in the concrete coating of irrigation canals is the stabilization of the coating conditions under the lining and the slope of the wall, especially in areas with soils with poor geotechnical properties, such as the existing streams. Placing concrete directly on these substrates during the operation period will cause problems. In this study, different methods of leak control were investigated. The use of filters is one of the ways to control water leakage from concrete and soil body of canals in irrigation canals. Coatings such as lime shaft with a grade of 150 kg/m3 and concrete except with a thickness of 3-6 cm under lining were proposed as one of the ways to control water leakage in this study and in Shadegan project, 550 thousand hectare Maroon basin projects were used.
