Abstract :
The mass media especially the internet are considered a important factor affecting individual identity, collective identity and ultimately national identity.Since the identity crisis due to the particular circumstances and the young population of our country, does engaged youth and creates lack of motivation and no responsibility for them and is impeding their useful activities, should be more investigated and in provision of key strategies more than ever attempts should be made. The present study has done with the aim of determine the amount of and how to use of internet of youth and amount of effectiveness of their of emerging media. Method of this study is survey. Also, for the collection of research data questionnaire was used and to measure each of the main variables of this study, related items is used in Likert format. The present study consists of all the youth whose age range is between 18 to 30 in Rasht city. According to Morgan table, this study consists of 384 youth whose age range is between 18 to 30 years old. After collecting information, all data was processed by SPSS software. Research findings show that the amount of usage of internet has a bad effect on identity and the incentive of internet usages has a positive effect on the youth identity. Finally, social and economic status of the youth can influence on the youth identity indirectly.
