Personality-job fit is an important issue in human resources management literature and human resources planning. However, the issue has attracted less attention by itself in Iranian organizations. People have been employed in organizational jobs based on skill, experience, or education by no attention to their personality. Current study tries to study the effect of personality-job on employee’s performance and job satisfaction. The population under study is the employees of Islamic Azad University, Firoozkoh branch. Gerjsi and Morgan table is used to estimate the sample size. In addition, the samples are selected by random sampling plan. To collect data, a self-administrated questionnaire is designated. Personality-job fit and job satisfaction is measured by Holland’s questionnaire and Fildors’s questionnaire, respectively. Cronbach’ alpha is used to confirm reliability of questionnaire. To analyse the data, central parameters, binomial test, and Kruscal Wallis test are ulitized. The performance is also measured by a structured interview with supervisors. The results indicated that the perception of personality-job appropriateness has a significant impact on job satisfaction and as a result leads to higher level of performance.
