Consideration of distributions of stress, strain, and displacement for various modes of bowing by applying ANSYS-Workbench finite element-based software

Abstract :

Considering the importance of carbon nanotubes, in this research, after entering the bowing analysis software, distributions of stress, strain, displacement, and critical loading are taken into account for various modes of bowing applying ANSYS-Workbench finite element-based software. In this software, the number of favorite modes for analysis can be selected to consider the stress, strain, and displacement for each mode separately. Through this research, it is concluded that when the first mode of bowing occurs, in the case that all the supports are of catcher type, if the second mode of bowing occurs, a structure can easily come to the other modes. Also, by checking the results and comparing them with a simple support status, it is concluded that increasing the assurance factor of a load for a catcher support status is more than a simple support. Therefore, it can be concluded that the structure in this state is more resistant than the bowing status.
