Abstract :
Today, the fashion industry is the second most polluting industry. Compared to other chemicals, carbon emissions in this industry are least concerning to environmental activists. Activists are concerned about using preservatives, dyes, and pesticides on cotton farms and waste from clothing production. Investigating the components of sustainable fashion and their impact on the fashion industry is necessary. A case study of Tehran, Region 3, will be conducted. This study aims to investigate the components of sustainable fashion and their impact on the fashion industry. The statistical population of the present study consists of 22 textile and clothing factory managers. In this study, sampling was not employed; instead, the census method was utilized. Library resources, including books, magazines, and electronic sources, were used to gather information and theoretical foundations. To gather information regarding sustainable fashion, a questionnaire (field method) was utilized to collect relevant data. Various techniques and tools are used to test research hypotheses. SPSS software was used for data analysis—the research aimed to verify the assumptions of the T-Tech test by conducting an independent sample. The results indicated a significant difference in ranking the producer, consumer, and environment dimensions. The study found that more attention has been given to producers in the design and production of clothing. Other aspects, i.e., environment and consumers, are ranked second and third.
