Abstract :
The present paper aims to determine the relationship between ICT usage and generation gap inTehran urban family. This research is based on a survey in which a systematic random sampling of 384 familieshas been chosen to be questioned from different districts of Tehran. The results of the test showed a meaningfulrelationship between the usage of ICT and generation gap in urban households of Tehran. This means that thetype and amount of Internet and satellites utility differ by parents and children and this difference has led to agap between two generations. This gap gradually reduces the common points and the mutual understanding ofcurrent generation (children) and the previous generation (parents) and ultimately social interaction within suchfamilies is faced with major problems.
