بررسی تاثیر حمایتی تیموکینین بر سیتوتوکسیسیتی داروی متوتروکسات بر مورفولوژی اسپرم در موش

metotrxate is an anti-cancer drug used in chemotherapy. One of the limiting side effects of metotrxate use iscytotoxicity and decrease in genital gland function, azoospermia and oligospermia.Thymoquinone is the major active component derived from Nigella sativa present study amid to investigateprotective effect of Thymoquinone on metotrxate - induced cytotoxicity on sperm morphology in mice .In this experimental study,thirty male adult mice with weight 25-30 g were randomaly into five groups pf sixeach Control group reicived saline , first experimental group received metotrxate (20mg/kg) and other threeexperimental group , that received different doses of hydroalcoholic extact of Thymoquinone 2-10 and 20 (mg/kg/i.p )with metotrxate resepctively.Day after the last injection, weights of body and testis,seminiferoustubular diameter and sperm morphology were assessed. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and one-wayANOVA followed .The results showed that cisplatin leaded to a reduction significantly in the weights of bodyand testis,sperm morphology(normal) compared to the control group(P<0.05), while in treated groups withThymoquinone, the weights of body and testis, seminiferous tubular diameter,sperm morphology(normal) werehigher compared with metotrxate The result showed that Thymoquinone could effect of protective onmetotrxate - induced cytotoxicity on sperm parameters that may be related to the presence of antioxidantcomponents.
