Introduction: Cancer is the second leading cause of death after heart disease and artery. Plants protect humanlife and health and most of them have the ability to control cancer cells. In this study, we examined the effect ofextracts of Vicia venulosa Boiss. L. on Hela cells.Methods: Hela cancer cell line were cultured in RPMI1640 liquid medium with 10% inactivated fetal bovineserum (FBS) and antibiotics. Cell were cultured with various concentration of extract of Vicia venulosa(10,7.5,5,2.5,1.25,.625,.312,.156 mg/ml) for 72 hours and were analyzed using the MTT test .Result: The results of this study show that different concentration of Vicia venulosa inhibited the growth of Helacell line. In high concentration ( 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 mg/ml) significant differences were observed in compare to thecontrol group(p<0.05).Conclusion: The results showed that hydroalcoholic extract of Vicia venulosa can prevent the growth of cancer cell.
