Introduction: The present study aims to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence, social adaptation, and quality of life among female high school students in the Doroodzan region.
research methodology: This descriptive correlational research examines the relationship between emotional intelligence and both social adaptation and quality of life among female high school students in the Doroodzan area of Fars province. The statistical population consists of all female students in the second year of high school in Doroodzan during the 2023-2024 academic year. A sample of 250 students was selected through convenience sampling from girls' high schools in the region. The research instruments included the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (Schutte et al., 1998), the Sinha & Singh Adaptation Scale (1995), and the WHO Quality of Life Questionnaire – Short Form (WHO-QOL-BREF, 1996). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression tests via SPSS software version 23.
Findings: Results from Pearson correlation and regression analysis indicated that emotional intelligence components positively and significantly predict social adaptation, physical health, psychological well-being, social relationships, and environmental health among female high school students in Doroodzan.
Conclusion: The findings suggest that there is a significant positive relationship between all dimensions of emotional intelligence and both quality of life and social adaptation. In other words, as emotional intelligence increases, so do the quality of life and social adaptation of participants.
